Welcome to the Queens Head Hotel Seven Mile Beach Triathlon brought to you by Triathlon South.
This event is Tasmania’s last triathlon of the Summer season. While it is a Triathlon South Club “Triathlon of the Year” points race, it is also open to the public to enter, either as individuals or teams (please note the age categories as per below)
We have five races being offered:
- Sprint and Short Course Triathlon distances, plus a Sprint Duathlon for land lovers.

- PLUS the Ray White Hobart Corporate Teams Relay Challenge over the Sprint Distance (more to ceome).
For the triathlons, the Sprint distance event is the main race of the day and the race that is used for points calculations. Youth and Juniors will race for points in the Short Course distance.
RESULTS
The Race Lowdown
When: Saturday, 2nd April 2022 at 10:00am – Sprint and Short Course Triathlon (please note schedule below for registration and transition opening/closing times)
Where: Seven Mile Beach Day, Use Area 2, on Surf Road, just off Greuber Avenue.
Parking: plenty of parking on either side of Surf Road/Greuber Avenue (look for the portaloos on the day and you are in the right place)
Event distances:
- Short Course Triathlon: 300m | 7km | 2km (age rules apply: 12 year olds can complete solo and/or as part of a team)
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m | 20km | 5km (age rules apply: 13 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 14 year olds can enter as a solo participant)
- Sprint Duathlon (ie no swimming, format is run | ride | run) 2km | 20km | 5km (as per above, same age rules apply).
Age Category:
Note: Age as at 31st of December 2020 for this season.
- Youth (12-14) – Youth are only eligible for points/prize money in the Short Course race
- Junior (15-19) – Juniors are only eligible for points/prize money in the Short Course race
- Senior (20-39)
- Veteran (40-49)
- Super Veteran (50+).
Schedule:
- Registration and Transition: opens at 8.30am and closes at 9.30am.
- Compulsory Race Brief for all competitors: 9.35am
- Swim safety briefing and quick warm up: 9:50am
- Race start: Sprint will start at 10:00am. Short Course will start 5 minutes later for safety reasons.
- Presentations approx. 12:00 noon.

- Non-Members of Triathlon Australia Sprint $95 & Short Course $85 (INCLUDES $20.00 fee for One Day Licence)
- Teams Sprint $95 & Short Course $85 (INCLUDES $20.00 fee for One Day Licence)
- Juniors Sprint $40 & Short Course $35 (Add $20 if non-Triathlon Australia member & take off $15 if Triathlon South member)
- Late entries – after 8pm before race day add $20 LATE FEE fee to the above. ONLINE entry only.
TEAMS: *Note team entry has changed! The first team member needs to register the team name and pay for the event. You must choose the team option in the “distance AND category” when entering. Please enter team members names and ensure each team member agrees to the waiver in the correct place.

The Fine Print:
*In addition to spot prizes, a prize will be given to category winners 1st ,2nd, 3rd placing Male and Female in the Sprint (AS PER ABOVE) and overall 1st ,2nd, 3rd placing Male and Female in the Short course. And to the winning team of Sprint and Short course.
Where do we race?
Triathlon South are hosting this event in the seaside location of Seven Mile Beach, in the Clarence Municipality, which is adjacent to the Hobart Airport and approximately 15 minutes drive to the City of Hobart.
The success of previous races at this venue has cemented this unique event in our summer calendar and what better way to enjoy this beautiful part of Tassie.
