The Queens Head Hotel Seven Mile Beach Triathlon has been cancelled due to the unfolding COVID-19 situation.

All entries will be refunded.

Keep your training going and we’ll see you for a few Winter duathlons (hopefully) and/or some Summer triathlon fun at the end of 2020.

 

Welcome to the Ray White Hobart Kingston Aquathlon. Brought to you by Triathlon South – your local and Australia’s most southern triathlon club. This event is a Triathlon South club points race and distances are Sprint and Enticer. Teams are encouraged to enter too.

The details

Aquathlon Race #2: Kingston Beach opposite the Salty Dog Hotel

  • Friday 14th February 2020 at 6:00pm
  • Registration and transition opens at 5:00pm and closes at 5:40pm
  • Race briefing at 5:45pm (compulsory for all competitors)
  • Presentations on the beach at 7:15pm
  • Online entries close Thursday night at 7:00pm prior to race day. On the day entries available, cash only, $10 late entry fee applies.

Event distances:

  • Enticer Aquathlon: 500m swim | 2.5km beach run (age rules apply: 12 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 13 years and up can enter as a solo or in a team).
  • Sprint Aquathlon: 1km swim | 5km beach run (age rules apply: 13 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 14 years and up can enter solo or in a team).

Note: Age Category: as at 31 st of December 2019 for this season.

  • Non Members of Triathlon Australia $40.00 (INCLUDES $10.00 fee for One Day Licence)
  • Teams $40.00 (INCLUDES $10.00 fee for One Day Licence)
  • Junior $20.00 (Add $10 if non Tri Aust member & take off $10 if Tri South member)
  • Entries on the day: add $10 late fee to the above categories.

The fine print

  • In addition to spot prizes, a small prize will be given to 1st ,2nd, 3rd placing Male and Female in the Sprint and Enticer. And to the winning team of sprint and enticer.
  • This series will count towards the end of year Club age category winners and Triathlete of the year.

NOTE: This event is also Armstrong’s Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd State series race 3, and a Triathlon South club points race. With the Olympic distance event being the main race of the day and also the race that is used for points calculations (juniors will race the sprint distance for points).

Where: Day use area 2, Surf Road, Seven Mile Beach

Entries close: 8:00 pm, Friday night before the race

Event distances:

  • Enticer: 375m | 10km | 2.5km (age rules apply: 12 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 13 year olds can enter as a solo participant)
  • Sprint: 750m | 20km | 5km (age rules apply: 13 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 14 year olds can enter as a solo participant)
  • Olympic (also called Standard): 1500m | 40km | 10km (age rules apply: 14 year olds can only compete as part of a team, 15 year olds and up can compete solo or as part of a team).

Results for the race:

As a grass roots club, Triathlon South would like to acknowledge the generous financial support from Tassal, as our naming rights sponsor for this event, held in the beautiful Roches Beach area, 10 minutes from the Hobart airport.

This is a four-race series and provides a great opportunity for all experience and fitness levels to compete or just have fun on a completely closed course (no vehicles) at the Derwent Entertainment Centre (the DEC). Racing is organised by your local triathlon club, Triathlon South. Download the Duathlon Series flyer now.

Of the four Sprint Distance races, your top three scores will be calculated and a major cash prize of $250 each for overall best female and male will be up for grabs together with your name etched on to a perpetual trophy and presented after the conclusion of Race 4.
