The last of our triathlons in the series, this is the fun one where you get to chase/or be chased as you start from a time handicap worked out by some secret algorithm perfected by Carl, so slower triathles, based on Season results, go first and prgressively faster athletes head off in pursuit. The theory is that we are all meant to finish at the same time. Yet to happen... So much fun, but only open to Club members this one.

Distance is usually 400metres | 12km | 4km (in between Enticer and Sprint to allow everyone to compete in a single race).

Harcourts Signature 10km, starting at Simmonds Park, Lindisfarne, and following the river under the Tasman Bridge, around Rosny Hill, Bellerive Bluff, and along Bellerive Beach. Then a short stint over the middle bluff will bring you into Wentworth Park for a short sprint across the grasslands to the finishline. Starts at 9.30 am.

Your Health Hub 5km, starts at Rosny RSL Car Park and follows the second half of the 10km course, starting at 9.30 am.

Pace Financial Services 2km starts at the Queen Street end of Bellerive Beach. In this event, prizes are limited to runners aged 12 or under, starting at 9 am.

Description: This event starts at the impressive coastal formations of Tasman Arch/Devils Kitchen and traverses the clifftops via Clemes Peak through to Fortescue Bay. Along the way, you are spoilt with spectacular views over Eaglehawk Neck to the north and Cape Hauy and the Candle Stick to the south. The trail passes through Dracophylla forest and coastal Sheoak groves with the finish at stunning Fortescue Bay where a refreshing swim is mandatory!!

A shuttle bus will be available before the run to shuttle runners from Fortescue Bay (the finish) to the start at the Tasman Arch carpark.

Fortescue Bay is a great place for the family with a sheltered beach, walking tracks and great snorkelling. Why not make a weekend of it and camp at the Fortescue Bay campground on the saturday night. Or if pristine beachs don't appeal to the family send them off to Port Arthur for the day!

Entry fee: $45 per person plus $10 if you'd like to use the shuttle bus before the run from Fortescue Bay to the start of the run, leaving at 9am from Fortescue Bay.

The 11km run starts on the Brooker Highway adjacent to the Hobart Showground. The 7km run starts on Bellevue Parade New Town below the Brooker Highway overpass. The 7km walk starts at Cornelian Bay adjacent to the playground. Parking is available at Cornelian Bay however please arrive early to avoid road closures. The 2.7km run starts at the intersection of Salamanca Place and Davey St. This event is for children aged 12 or under. (This is not a Triathlon South event).

Icebreaker Multisport race is set in the beautiful surrounds of the Lake Trevallyn Nature Reserve, only 5 minutes of the Launceston CBD.

The peaceful waters of Lake Trevallyn will be the first of the three disciplines to be tackled by competitors with a 9 km kayak, then it a short but challenging run from the lake's edge to the transition zone where competitors will embark on a 18 km Mountain Bike ride through the bush lands. Back into transition and then head out on an awesome trail run 8.5 km trail run along the edge of the lake and back through bush trails to the finish line. The Icebreaker Challenge can be tackled Individually or in a Team of 2 or 3 people. A Kids Adventure Race will be held as well as an Expo of food and multisport products to provide something for everyone. (This is not a Triathlon South event)

Distance: 11 km Hazards circuit or 29 km Mt Graham circuit.

Description: Both circuits will be run simultaneously in a clockwise direction.

The Freycinet Peninsula is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations in the world. With 29 km of exceptional track interspersed with pristine beaches this trail run will be hard to race with the temptation to stop for a swim or take in the view!

We have two options for this trail run with a shorter 11 km circuit via Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach, and the full 29 km circuit taking in Mt Graham and Cooks Beach. If this is your first trail run we strongly suggest you do the shorter circuit. We cannot take walkers on the long circuit due to the time it takes to complete that distance. If entering the 29km run you need to be capable of completing the course in under 5:30hrs.

We recommend the 29 km run for experienced trail runners, the course is rough underfoot and is marked only with cairns in some parts of the track

Compulsory equipment is required for the 29km loop and includes: a thermal top, a space blanket, water (bladder or drink bottle), food (energy bar/gel/chocolate bar), a head torch and a roller bandage. A waterproof top and additional warm clothes/beanie/gloves are also suggested in case the weather gods do not smile on us!

There are many camping and accomodation options within Freycinet National Park and nearby Coles Bay if you wish to make a weekend of it - highly recomended!!!

Description: Russell Falls is an ideal beginners trail run –or just a whole heap of fun for the more experienced trail runner!! It takes in a couple of the most beautiful waterfalls in Tassie as well as some of Tassie's tallest trees. The trail is pretty much wheel chair standard, except for the stairs!

The Glenorchy Fun Run is the main promotional event run by the Northern Suburbs Athletic Club each year with about 400 participants turning out in the middle of winter. The event is the clubs largest fundraiser each year. ​

The idea to hold a 5km and 10km fun run in the Northern Suburbs of Hobart was conceived by club members Mike Pace and Brian Sutherland in the early 90's with the first event in 1991. The first few events were held as a celebration of Tasmania Day and the male and female winners were each awarded a large Tasmanian Medal.

With a couple of course and month changes, the Glenorchy Fun Run has now found its place on the Tasmanian Fun Run Calendar in late July at the Derwent Entertertainment Centre.

Duathlon - Proposed Date - Winter Series #3 at Seven Mile Beach

Distance: 17.5 km

Description: The Labilladiere Peninsula on Bruny Island provides an ideal location for a return loop run.

This run starts at the Jetty beach campground and does a clockwise loop of the peninsula. Starting out on the 4wd track down the western side provides magnificent views of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and the Southern ranges. At the bottom, runners take in a rare view of Partridge Island from the picturesque Butlers Beach before following a beautiful single track along the eastern side of the peninsula back to Jetty Beach.

There is a nice campground at Jetty beach for those who want to camp the night before (or after). There is also great surfing, snorkelling, sea kayaking and a few other walks nearby.

Entry Fee: $45 per person

You must register (at the run start) between 9:15 - 9:45am for a 10am start.

Our triathlon season launch will be at the Orana Guide Camp at 146 Roches Beach Road commencing at 9:30 (rego) for a 10am start.

This is open to everyone who is interested in the sport of triathlon. This is an informal get together and an opportunity for club members old and new to catch up for a bit of banter and share their knowledge with new competitors wishing to enter the sport. Also bring your good used second hand gear to sell and your spare cash to buy some good quality gear on offer.

This will be the first time we run a triathlon from Day Use Area #2 - our new Seven Mile Beach home. We will not be running the Enduro as advertised at this stage. This race will be Sprint and Enticer distances run on the new course as preparation for the State Champs on January 20 2018 so will follow that format.

Come and test the new course out and stomp all over our new "carpeted" transition. For anyone local who will be entering the State Champs race in January, this will be a great opportunity to get the low down on this new course.

After the race, we will be having a low key BBQ and a cold lemonade before we all head into a busy Festive Season.

The State Sprint Championships race, which doubles as a national qualifier for Australian team selection, is confirmed. More details to follow, but please note the following, especially for Northern and interstate entrants: due to the expected high tide times, it is likely that the Sprint race will be between 1 - 3pm with the run on the hard packed sand of the beach and the gravel connecting the new transition area to the beach (which will have some carpet on it).

This will be a 40-45km loop of easy and relatively flat trails between Seven Mile Beach, Lauderdale and South Arm. These are scenic trails suited to all riders of moderate fitness and beginner-level skills or above.

Adventure Rides (off event website):

Adventure Rides are social rides (not races) on Sundays once a month through winter to enjoy some different

trails and places to ride. Rides will generally be relatively non-technical, start-finish at the same location, for between 3 hrs up to all day.

Riders will need to be self-sufficient with food, water, spares, etc., however some snacks will be provided during the ride. Depending on the route, we may stop for coffee along the way or the end (bring your coffee $$). Hot soup or a pastry afterwards will be provided.

Locations and routes are subject to change depending on the weather.

Cyclocross (sometimes known as CX) is a mix between road roading and cross country mountain biking. Races generally happen in the Winter and Autumn over short courses with racers avoiding obstacles (which may require dismounting), riding on grass, gravel, step hills and more. It’s a muddy, fun experience for all ages of riders.

Adventure Ride 5 – 23rd September – Ring Wood Trail, Lachlan

This 35km loop takes you up Jefferys Track, along the East-West trail and down the ring wood trail. Views are amazing but prepared for all weather. we will meet at the Lachlan general store, Lachlan for a 10am start.

Adventure Rides (off event website):

Adventure Rides are social rides (not races) on Sundays once a month through winter to enjoy some different

trails and places to ride. Rides will generally be relatively non-technical, start-finish at the same location, for between 3 hrs up to all day.

Riders will need to be self-sufficient with food, water, spares, etc., however some snacks will be provided during the ride. Depending on the route, we may stop for coffee along the way or the end (bring your coffee $$). Hot soup or a pastry afterwards will be provided.

Locations and routes are subject to change depending on the weather.

Cost per event: $10 per adult, $5 per junior

Starting out on the 4wd track down the western side provides magnificent views of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and the Southern ranges. The run starts and finishes at the Weldborough hotel. The accent follows the original Blue tier track with its granite slabs and boulders and the odd creek crossing. The smooth and fast descent follows the newly constructed Blue Tier single-trail mountain bike track back to the pub! The total distance is approximately 32km. We will have a time cut off at about the 11km mark where we can turn you around making the total distance 26km. This is to ensure we are all finished and off the track before the mountain bikers hit the trails!

This is the updated date for the Launceston Triathlon Club's Bridport triathlon to be held in the morning. Offering Olympic, Sprint and Try Stars distances.

This is a great event and should not be missed, and one of the opportunities to race the longer Standard distance for those wanting a bit more of a hit out prior as part of their Coles Bay Half training.

Pop it in your calendar and book some accommodation. This event usually coincides with the Tasmanian Ocean Swim's Bridport 2km and 1km swims on the Saturday but at this stage is looks like these two events clash as currently both dates are 5 January.

Mount Martha is situated between Mornington and Safety Beach on the Mornington Peninsula, fronting Port Phillip.

While Mount Martha offers only a small commercial centre in Lochiel Avenue, it is an ideal destination for those visitors seeking a scenic and less commercial holiday location where the surrounding bushland meets the coast.

Safe swimming beaches with wide sandy stretches exist just north and south of the commercial centre, lined with rows of colourful bathing boxes. However, much of the coast around Mount Martha typically consists of rocky cliffs with bushland up above, offering a number of walking tracks and scenic viewing spots. A worthwhile drive is along the Esplanade - a coastal road linking Mount Martha with Mornington in the north and Safety Beach in the south.

This is an inclusive series, with developing paddlers receiving just as much support as experienced paddlers. Entry fees are cheap and the same for everyone. There are no age, gender or craft categories...paddlers simply enter any one of 3 divisions and results will be recorded on this basis.
