Membership

MEMBERSHIP

No matter if you are an active participant in our events or a non-competitive supporter, our membership base is what keeps us going, and there is a membership option available for you. In addition to supporting the club with a small portion of the TA membership fee going to the club to put on events, membership also provides other benefits such as insurance while training for events or during an event, as well as the opportunity to represent Australia at a world championship.

Age group membership

By being a member of Triathlon South (and as such a member of Triathlon Australia) you not only get cheaper race entry fees, and insurance cover but are also entitled to a range of discounts and vouchers only available to members.

For full details of the benefits of membership please refer to the Triathlon Australia membership benefits page.

For pricing of membership please refer to the TA membership page.

As a volunteer-based club, the only obligation we place on our members is that they nominate one race a Season that they make themselves available to marshal or do other duties as required. If members want to race every event, that is great, they just need to nominate an adult family member or friend to do their duty on their behalf. Members who do not do their duty in a Season are not eligible for our major club awards.

Junior membership

Triathlon South support our junior members (13 to 19 years of age) by providing them with heavily discounted race entry fees (by way of a unique discount code). Junior members are entitled to the same benefits as other membership types of Triathlon Australia.

Also see our Junior Members page for specific details.

Please get in touch to discuss.

Pathways for younger kids

Through Triathlon Australia, the TRYSTARS community program and TRYstars Schools program caters for children in the 7 to 12 age category. For more information, and see what might be available for your kids, ring Brady Butcher, Executive Officer, Triathlon Tasmania on 0418 709 888 or email admin@tas.triathlon.org.au

Non-competing membership

Even if you are not a competitor there is a membership option for you. By being a non-competing member such as a volunteer or keen supporter, you will receive regular updates and communication from both the National and the State Association. In addition, the Association’s insurance policy does provide public liability and personal accident insurance cover if you are volunteering, or officiating at any club activity or sanctioned multisport event.
