We all know that exercise is good for the body and soul. Exercising with others is amazing as you share the experience. I am sure all members of our community appreciate how lucky we are, being able to chat, race, and then chat again. Sometimes we even chat while we are racing. And sometimes we just need to chat. We complain, we laugh, we describe our aches and pains, and sometimes our frustrations. We connect, reveal and heal. We are lucky.
The members of the Triathlon South committee appreciate these moments and the power of sport to enable them. This season, through our involvement with the club, we have made a commitment to support organisations that support those in need, particularly in the area of positive mental health. As a start, $5 from each registration is being directed to an organisation that does good, locally.
At our first Triathlon of the season, we collected $460 for SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY and their collaboration with the Alcohol and Drug Foundation’s Good Sports Program to deliver mental health literacy training to sporting clubs across Tasmania.
We thank our event sponsors, Clennett’s Mitre 10, JSA Engineering, the Queens Head Hotel and Ray White Hobart, whose continued support allows us to make this commitment.
