November 24 is National Sardines Day (somewhere in the world) and it is also the date for our Club’s Summer Series launch. This year, it will be on Long Beach at Sandy Bay (the one with the pontoon near the Pavillion). Come along just to say hello or participate in some beach fun, organised by Club Sponsor, Peter McKenna of Try-a-Tri. Definitely bring your swimming and running gear, and if you feel like a ride after the event wraps about 11am, a few people will probably head up the Bonnet to work off the brunch fair.
You even might get a free sardine sandwich (though I doubt it). Regardless, you will get some great sausages from West Hobart Meats on Hill Street thrown on the BBQ, and vegetarians will be catered for too.
If you are a new member of the Club, we will have a treat for you and plenty of advice if needed. Come along and get to know the faces that will help you on race day.
Please RSVP for catering only – we will have extra so happy if you drop in on the day without replying.
